Fall Equinox Community Wellness Gathering — This Sunday in Hanalei
Aloha Kauaʻi ʻOhana,
In the wake of the hurricane and as our island continues to recover, The Akamu Institute invites our community to come together this Sunday, September 20, for our Fall Equinox Community Wellness Gathering at Hale Halawai ʻOhana O Hanalei.
This gathering feels especially meaningful now.
The intention of the day is simple: to create a space where we can reconnect, receive, support one another, and honor the people and traditions that help keep our community strong.
The gathering is free and open to the community and will include local vendors and farmers, healing practitioners, lomilomi and bodywork, food, music, and opportunities to experience and learn about Hawaiian culture.
Our scheduled coconut weaving and Māmaki tea ceremony will not take place this Sunday as those practitioners are tending to their own hurricane recovery. We send them our aloha and support as they restore their homes, farms, and livelihoods.
Other Hawaiian cultural offerings and community experiences will continue throughout the afternoon and evening. Registration is required for our hula cultural class. Bring a pareo to dance. Please register at http://www.akamuinstitute.org

This event is presented by The Akamu Institute — School of Healing & Hawaiian Cultural Studies, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making healing education and Hawaiian cultural learning more accessible while supporting the practitioners, teachers, and community members who carry these traditions forward.
If you are able to join us, come as you are. Bring your family, meet your neighbors, support local vendors and practitioners, and spend an afternoon reconnecting as a community.
