Aloha Family and Friends!

Today (Wednesday February 15th) is the beginning of the public forums and discussions with the KIUC Candidates for the 3 Board of Director positions we will be voting for in March. I am excited to be running for a position on the KIUC Board of Directors and am looking forward to lively and educational discussions with the other candidates. Please check the schedule below for a convenient forum or watch for additional information in The Garden Island or on Ho’ike.

I humbly request your consideration when casting your votes. I am seeking this position with over 12 years of experience in the energy industry including 10 years managing employees and dealing with million dollar budgets and over 2 years working with Honolulu SeaWater Air Conditioning. I have been actively involved in local energy and sustainability initiatives including testifying to the Kauai County Council, teaching energy conservation at the Kauai County Farm Fair and Kalaheo Elementary School and keeping tabs on the activities at KIUC by attending meetings consistently over the past 3 years.

I will work to make the KIUC Board of Directors a more responsive and transparant decision making body that engages member-owners proactively instead of waiting to defend decisions already made.

I will work to have the KIUC Board of Directors promote and support residential and business member-owner conservation efforts as saving energy is good for all of us and the cooperative.
I will work to make KIUC an energy cooperative that financially benefits all member-owners (with the cheapest rates possible) and is poised to deal with the global changes in energy production and distribution making KIUC a sustainable organization.

The KIUC budget this year is almost 200 million dollars – Your vote is important in how decisions regarding your money is spent.

I want to help make KIUC your energy cooperative, an organization you will be proud to be a member-owner of.

I would be honored to have your support in becoming a Director at KIUC. Please feel free to contact me with thoughts, questions, or to just talk story.
